How to say ‘no’ graciously

He’s just proposed and you feel a flurry of emotion ranging from “this is too soon”, “I’m not sure if you’re the one” or possibly even, “I don’t love you back”.  You want to know how to say no and on  on top of that this guy is down on one knee patiently waiting for an answer .

Here’s  our tips on how to say no to a proposal

Ask Him Quietly to Stand Up

If you’re surrounded by a group of onlookers or possibly worse, family and friends, just quietly ask him to stand up and meet your gaze. This will help ease some of the awkwardness and will make him feel a little more comfortable as opposed to you raising your voice to say “no” while he’s still hanging out on one knee. Asking him to stand up will give him the cue that something is up without keeping him in an uncomfortable position.
