Engagement ring shopping can be a daunting task. Where do you start? What sort of ring do you get? What questions should you ask?
Here at The One Romance we are determined to put all your fears to one side so we have put together some engagement ring shopping rules to make it all easy peasy for you!
Engagement Ring Shopping Rule 1: Turn into James Bond
You need to channel your inner James Bong and turn into a bit of spy to suss out her style. Some couples are more than happy to go engagement ring shopping together, but if you are more of a traditionalist, then you need to work out the style she loves…and stick to it. Pay attention to the sort of jewellery she wears – does she like silver or Rose Gold? If you’ve never seen her wear gold then don’t go and buy her a gold engagement ring. Simple.
Engagement Ring Shopping Rule 2: Give yourself 6 weeks
You might have chosen the ring, but don’t forget that usually a ring takes 6 weeks to arrive, potentially longer if you have had it custom made. If you want to make the ring more personal by having something romantic engraved inside, then this will make the timing even longer.
Engagement Ring Shopping Rule 3: Bring a friend
Engagement ring shops can be daunting places. Not only are you already likely to be nervous (you’ve just made a life changing decision to propose after all!) but then you are in a shop, surrounded by various shapes, sizes and prices of diamonds, WHERE DO YOU START? We suggest you take someone with you (at least on your first trip), so grab your closest buddy, take a deep breath and go for it. Having a friend on hand to give advice ( or whisk you to the nearest pub afterwards) Will make the experience far more fun and less nerve wrecking!
With that in mind, did you know that at The One Romance our Proposal Planners Tiffany and Amanda are always on hand to go engagement shopping with you an offer advice? We have helped many a man choose an engagement ring perfect for their other half so if you don’t feel comfortable asking a friend for advice, then just give us a ring instead!
And if you already have the ring? Well, now it’s time to plan the proposal! And that’s something we ARE experts in. We have planned proposals worldwide (from Paris to Sydney to the USA) so you will be in incredibly good hands.
