As we are in the depths of winter, we thought the freesia was the perfect flower to remind us of warmer months with its bright colours and strong citrusy smell.
Blooming during the spring and because of its delicate and ornamental appearance, it is a popular choice for bridal bouquets at that time of year. With over 7 flowers on one stem, you do not need many to make a statement.
A great florist such as Paul from Pedal to the Metal will recommend that you don’t mix freesia with daffodils as the yellow flower releases chemicals that shortens the longevity of your flowers.
Did you know…?
The scent emitted from freesia is frequently used in lotions, soaps and shampoos and the strength of the smell depends on the colour of the flower.
The One Romance Team hope you are having a great holiday and enjoying the celebrations. We wish you a happy new year and look forward to seeing you in 2018. Maybe this will be the year that you propose to your loved one or are celebrating a special anniversary!
